Kimuak acaba de cumplir 10 años o, mejor dicho, diez catálogos. Efectivamente, Kimuak 2007 es ya el décimo vástago de esta iniciativa sustentada desde el Gobierno Vasco y Filmoteca Vasca, y el programa goza hoy de una salud más envidiable que nunca. Y para celebrar este aniversario hemos pensado que nada mejor que invitar a unos cuantos amigos de Kimuak a elegir sus cortos favoritos de esta todavía pequeña historia. Y aunque seguramente la mayor parte de los espectadores echarán en falta algún otro corto de Kimuak que también podía haber estado incluido en esta selección, creo que no cabe duda de que se trata de una selección más que significativa.
No sería justo cerrar estas líneas sin dedicar un reconocimiento a algunas personas e instituciones que han contribuido a convertir Kimuak en lo que es hoy. Queremos, pues, expresar nuestro agradecimiento al Departamento de Cultura del Gobierno Vasco, creador de KIMUAK, a Donostia Kultura, al Festival Internacional de Cine Donostia-San Sebastián, al ICAA y a Filmoteca Española,...En estos nombres queremos expresar también nuestro reconocimiento, no solo a ellos, sino a todos los que con su esfuerzo y apoyo han contribuido decisivamente a que Kimuak sea hoy un programa de referencia en el ámbito del cortometraje internacional. A todos ellos, a todos vosotros, muchísimas gracias.

Kimuak is celebrating its 10th year or rather, its 10th catalogue. That’s right, Kimuak 2007 is the tenth product of this initiative supported by the Basque Government and the Basque Film Library, and, at the moment, the programme is in the best of health. In order to celebrate this anniversary, we thought it would be a good idea to invite some admirers of Kimuak to choose their favourite short films from its short history. Though many filmgoers will miss other short films made by Kimuak that could also have been chosen, there is no doubt that this selection is significant of what has been done.
It would not be fair to close without showing our appreciation of some of the people and institutions that have helped to make Kimuak what it is today. We would like to express our gratitude to the Basque Country’s Department of Culture, the creator of Kimuak, to Donostia Kultura, to the San Sebastian International Film Festival, to the ICAA and to the Spanish Film Library. We want to acknowledge not only these people and institutions, but also all those that have made Kimuak a point of reference within the field of international short films. To them, to you, thank you very much.
