Con intención de continuidad, la Mostra de Cinema Llatinoamericà de Lleida inauguró hace tres años una nueva Sección, la de la publicidad. Con la premisa de relacionarse con lo mejor del audiovisual latinoamericano, la Mostra apostó por llegar a un acuerdo con la mejor plataforma existente en la actualidad en este ámbito, el Festival Publicitario Iberoamericano “El Sol”, de San Sebastián, que este año llegará a finales de mayo a su 23ª edición. Este año, la Mostra de Cinema Llatinoamericà de Lleida proyecta todos los spots ganadores en la edición de 2007.
El festival de la publicidad latina
Todos los años, a finales del mes de mayo, la capital donostiarra es el escenario elegido para la creatividad española e iberoamericana para exponer lo mejor de sí misma. Las mejores ideas del año compiten por los preciados Soles de Oro. “El Sol”, Festival Publicitario Iberoamericano, antes conocido como Festival Publicitario de San Sebastián es la actividad más importante que organiza la Asociación Española de Agencias de Publicidad (AEAP) con el objetivo de impulsar la creatividad publicitaria. En el año 2003, durante su decimoctava edición, el festival decide abrir su participación a los países latinoamericanos, Portugal y mercado USA hispano, con lo que el festival pasa a tener un carácter internacional y se convierte en un punto de referencia para conocer las tendencias publicitarias a nivel mundial. El Sol, que comenzó su andadura siendo un festival de cine y televisión, es ahora un festival multimedia en el que se han ido incorporando con el tiempo distintas secciones a concurso: Cine y televisión, gráfica, radio, soportes interactivos y medios. Desde su primera edición en 1986 se ha convertido en el más prestigioso foro de reunión del sector publicitario en España. La 23a edición de “El Sol” tendrá lugar en San Sebastián los días 29, 30 y 31 de mayo de 2008.

So as to have some continuity, the Latin American Film Festival of Lleida started a new section dedicated to advertising three years ago. With the intention of being in touch with the best of Latin American audio-visuals, the Film Festival committed itself to reaching an agreement with the most important platform in this field, namely “El Sol”, the Iberoamerican Advertising Festival in San Sebastian, which will be celebrating its 23rd anniversary at the end of May. This year, the Latin American Film Festival of Lleida will show all the winning ads from the 2007 festival.
The festival of latin advertising
Every year, at the end of May, the capital city of San Sebastián is the place chose by the world of Spanish and Latin American creativity to show what its best at. The best ideas of the year compete for the prestigious “Sol de Oro” award. “El Sol”, the Iberoamerican Advertising Festival, formerly known as the San Sebastián Advertising Festival, is the most important event organised by the Spanish Association of Advertising Agencies (AEAP), with the aim of promoting creativity in advertising. In its 18th year in 2003, the festival decided that all Latin American countries, Portugal and the Hispanic market in the USA could take part, thus making the festival not only international but also a point of reference for those who want to know about trends in advertising around the world. “El Sol” started off as a cinema and television festival but has currently become multimedia as different sections such as those of cinema and television, graphics, radio and interactive media applications have been incorporated into the competition over the years. Since the first festival in 1986, it has become the most prestigious forum for the advertising sector in Spain. The 23rd “El Sol” Festival will take place in San Sebastián on May 29th, 30th and 31st 2008.
